Xtra, Xtra…
Xtra, Xtra... is about routine, consumption, and the objects that quietly shape our daily lives. A plastic detergent bottle is something so familiar, so ordinary, that it barely registers—yet it lingers in our spaces, our habits, and our trash. By translating it into clay, I’m forcing it to stick around, refusing its usual fate of being used up and discarded.
The bottle’s form is slightly warped, its surface textured and uneven, mimicking the wear and tear of repeated use. The hand-painted label, smudged and imperfect, mirrors the way we glance at things without really seeing them. These small distortions turn an otherwise forgettable object into something worth noticing.
